Snowboarding in Val Thorens

At 2.300 metres Val Thorens is not only the highest resort in the giant Trois Vallées ski area, but the highest in Europe. In fact, at 300m higher than Tignes, its high altitude means that doorstep snowboarding with guaranteed snow cover is possible from November to May.

Surrounded by dramatic peaks, its location is truly spectacular. On a fine day this offers a world class winter panorama. But when the weather closes in on the village, way above the tree line, it can feel a little like being on an expedition to the South Pole!

Val Thorens covers all bases for snowboarders of all abilities: stacks of off-piste, wide open runs for carving, one of the best terrain parks in France and a large, easily accessible beginners slope for first-timers.

Off the snow, La Folie Douce open air club and 360 Degree bar, provide some rockin’ après action with parties that have to be seen to be believed.

If you’re looking for a base to access great riding with guaranteed snow conditions and some fun après thrown in for good measure, Val Thorens will deliver the goods.
